They have been PCCA Members since 2017

When was the last time a patient thanked you?

Today! We marketed a special service within minutes from the time it was approved – COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 5-11. The customer was happy we’re always providing the services needed by the community before anyone else.

How did you get into pharmacy compounding?

My previous partner was a PCCA member, and I took the C3 training course (now CORE Compounding Training) that took my “Alice” imagination to the wonderland of compounding!

What’s the favorite thing about your job?

Feeling like a magician holding a wand I can utilize to create a different rabbit when I receive a new formula request from a prescriber. It’s fun, challenging and super rewarding.

What advice would you give to new compounders?

Always be a student and humble yourself every time someone tells you thank you. Keep your lab clean and clutter-free!

What is your most satisfying patient experience?

When an 80-year-old patient with chronic back pain brought my team chocolates and danced in my pharmacy because the LDN formula we compounded for him worked in just two weeks!

What has been your biggest “WOW” moment as a PCCA Member?

The level of support I received from CPMS, in particular Director of Business Coaching Services Bryan Prescott, PharmD, MBA, when I was opening Welltopia. His help was true, authentic and much needed when mentorship turns your dreams to achievable goals.

What is your favorite PCCA Base?

MucoLox™, because it solves a problem very few competitors can tackle: adherence to the mucous membrane lining the throat for 3-4 hours. It’s wonderful to see a simple MucoLox lidocaine preparation improve the life of a cancer patient. By numbing the throat pain caused by chemotherapy, the patient can eat again.

What is your favorite PCCA Educational experience?

PCCA International Seminar because I get to see fellow member Jim Hernci, RPh, every time I go. He is my idol and an awesome man to look up to!

What “Compounding: It’s Personal” means to me:

Challenging myself to help people in very interesting ways.
