Endocrine (aka endocrine system or hormone systems)
Comprises multiple glands that release hormones into the blood stream or the fluid surrounding cells to act on an organ in another part of the body. Endocrine glands include the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid and parathyroid glands, thymus, pancreas, adrenal glands, ovary (female), testicle (male) and placenta (pregnancy). More than 50 hormones have been identified in humans and other vertebrates.
