Summary

Where knowledge, networking and new ideas come together.

Join us for an insightful conference designed to equip Canadian healthcare professionals and pharmacy team members with the tools, knowledge and strategies needed to thrive in our ever-evolving industry.

The CONNEXT lineup of experts will discuss a wide range of topics crucial to both clinical pharmacy practice and workplace well-being including:

Burnout Be Gone! Keys to Identify, Address and Prevent Burnout in Yourself and Your Workplace — Laura Hambley Lovett, PhD

Despite wider conversation on the importance of mental health, 1 in 5 Canadians report that their mental health has declined in the past year, and levels of burnout are on the rise.

The pressures of constant change, work overload, economic uncertainty and global tensions have added to stress levels.

Dr. Laura is an Organizational Psychologist and thought leader on how workplaces must evolve to support the whole human being. This engaging and evidence-based presentation will explore the warning signs of burnout, and how to prevent and address burnout in your organization. We will discuss specific applications to the pharmaceutical compounding field, and how constant stress and burnout decreases longevity. As leaders in health, it’s important to proactively address the silent health killer: workplace stress.

Red-Pilling Cortisol: A Deep Dive Into Its Measurements and the Clinical Significance of Cortisol Laboratory Testing — George Gillson, MD, PhD

Understand the critical role cortisol and cortisone plays in patient health, identify why free cortisol testing in isolation is insufficient to properly assess patients, and recognize the multiple factors determining the delivery of cortisol to receptors in target tissue cells:

  • Hydrogenation of cortisol and cortisone
  • Cortisol-cortisone interconversion
  • Cortisol binding globulin
  • Conjugation of cortisol
  • Role of T3, bile acids, colonic flora

Compounding Innovation: Top 10 Formulas Shaping 2025 Industry Trends — Sara Hover, RPh, FAARM & Nat Jones, RPh, FAPC

Stay ahead of the curve! Explore the top compounding formulae and emerging compounding trends for 2025.

Exploring Low-Dose Naltrexone: Case Studies in Clinical Practice — Jeanette Queen, MS, NP, FAAFM, ABAAHP

Jeanette will provide insight into patient dosing schedules and practical considerations for implementing LDN as part of patient care in clinical practice through discussion of various patient case studies.

Balancing Your Hormones & Inflammation: The Use of LDN in Menopause and Perimenopause — Sara Hover, RPh, FAARM

This session will dive into the science behind perimenopause and menopause as an inflammatory state, exploring how hormonal shifts during this transition can trigger systemic inflammation. We will then focus on the role of low-dose naltrexone (LDN) as a potential therapeutic tool in managing these inflammatory processes.
