Summary
A must-attend training program for new hires, anyone new to compounding or anyone who has not attended formal training within the last 5 years – our foundational compounding course offers hands-on experience in our fully reengineered, next-level training lab, with equipment and technology designed to simulate a compounding environment based on the latest USP guidelines. All 56 training workstations feature a 4-foot NuAire® hood and standard compounding equipment.
Led by pharmacists and technicians with real-world experience, the course also includes classroom instruction and clinical lectures. Attendees will prepare for the hands-on training by completing our eLearning Compounding Training home study program covering the basics of compounding.
CE = 33 Hours TOTAL (18 HOURS LIVE; 15 HOURS HOME STUDY)
What’s covered:
- USP 795 and 800 overviews
- Formulation considerations in compounding
- Quality assurance, quality control and workflow resources and tools
- Specialized areas of compounding, including: hormone replacement, dermatology, veterinary and pain management
- New and hot topics in compounding
- How to tie everything you’ve learned together so you know what to do when you get back home
- On day 4, based on your role in the pharmacy, choose to attend the Advanced Compounding Workshop or the Marketing & Sales Workshop
Laboratory compounding sessions include:
- Topical and permeation-enhancing creams
- Suppositories and rectal rockets
- Capsules and suspensions
- Lollipops and troches
- And many more dosage forms
- Equipment covered: EXAKT® Ointment Mill, Electronic Mortar & Pestle (EMP), Jaansun® Capsule Machine
- Instructors also qualify competencies on gowning, hand washing and workflow technique within the powder containment enclosure

Marketing & Sales Workshop 8:00 am - 3:15 pm (In Person in Houston, TX)
