For accurate dispensing, the OptaPump Airless Dispenser must be manually calibrated according to the formula being placed in it. Please see PCCA Document #99990. 

30 mL sizes accommodate printed labels up to 1.5 inches or 3.81 centimeters in height. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The devices may be used interchangeably in PCCA formulations, including FormulaPlus formulations and related studies.

The dosage accuracy is +/-10%. We recommend compounders fill the device with 5–10% overage in order for a patient to receive the accurate number of doses prescribed. For example, we suggest filling a 30mL OptaPump Airless Dispenser with 33 mL and filling a 60 mL device to 63 mL to achieve appropriate prescription duration.

The bottle, actuator and snap-on cap are made from polypropylene. The piston (within the actuator) is made with polyethylene (low- and high-density LD/HD).

A variety of PCCA bases were tested in OptaPump Airless Dispenser, including VersaBase® Cream, Lipoderm® and PermE8®. Other PCCA bases may be used as well; however, as with all airless pump devices, preparations with too high or too low viscosity may not work.
